County Councillor Robin Parker Secures Funding for Great Local Cause

Hertfordshire County Council’s Locality Budget scheme has funded thousands of worthwhile projects since it was launched in 2009, making a positive difference to many Hertfordshire communities.

County councillors have £10,000 each year each to spend on projects in their area. This was boosted even further this year to help with COVID-19 related schemes because an extra £5,000 was made available to each County Councillor for this additional support.

Councillor Robin Parker (Chells Division) has awarded a grant of £1,000 to Garden House Hospice Care which provides specialist palliative care to people facing life-limiting illnesses and their family members and carers throughout North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and the surrounding villages.

Cllr Parker said: “Garden House Hospice has provided valuable care for local residents for many years. Sadly their fundraising has badly been impacted by COVID-19, so I am pleased to offer this financial help to Garden House Hospice on behalf of my local residents.”
