Isabel has lived in Stevenage for over 35 years, moving here for her first job as a social worker. Recently retired, she spent much of her career in Children’s Services, working for Hertfordshire and in neighbouring authorities and London boroughs. Her work brought her into contact with many families facing challenges and difficulties and she saw how important to people's lives are housing, schools, local services and the environment in which we live.

Isabel has two grown-up sons who were born at the Lister in Stevenage and went on to university from Barclay School; they remain loyal Boro fans.

Isabel is a keen walker and has favourite routes from home out on to STOOP, the Stevenage outer orbital path. She thinks that it's important that we keep our connection to nature, valuing the importance of green spaces and parks in town and easy access to the countryside for those who want to walk or cycle further.

Like our home, our town ideally nurtures us. It offers opportunity, space to grow and confidence to succeed, at home or further afield if that's the path we choose. It provides an identity, a sense of connectedness and freedom to move away or stay.

Would you like to help Isabel get elected?

There are many ways you could help Isabel get elected to Stevenage Borough Council. Our campaign teams are made up entirely of local volunteers with a wide range of abilities and from all walks of life. Even if you are completely new to any kind of political campaigning, you can still help. We will find things for you to do that fit your availability and your skills and you will have the support of experienced campaigners. Why not click here now and tell us what you would like to do to help.

You can also make a donation here to help fund vital campaign materials. Donating just £10 would pay for enough leaflets to tell 200 more families what Lib Dem councillors do for them.
