Neil has a long association with Stevenage, having worked for an established company in the town since 1982 and 15 years ago he moved to live in the town.
This year, Neil is standing for election as a Hertfordshire County Councillor in St Nicholas Division and as a Stevenage Borough Councillor in Woodfield Ward.
Neil says, "My experience in helping residents has highlighted how much people are being let down in Stevenage. They should not have to put up with a system where their problems are only dealt with when someone makes a big fuss. Our local authorites are paid to keep the town in good order and to deliver good quality services, and I would work very hard to make them do that if I am elected."
Neil is a passionate campaigner for the things that make the places people live better.
Neil says, "I fully support the campaign to make 20mph being the default speed limit for built-up areas in Hertfordshire. This change would do much to improve people's lives by creating better a sense of shared spaces in the streets where people live."
Neil was a professional engineer in the telecommunications industry, and is now retired. In his leisure time Neil helps to run two choirs and leads singing groups.
